BLACK TIE This type of event calls for formal attire. This means that it is appropriate to wear a tuxedo. Formal attire usually means the same as Black Tie. WHITE TIE This type of event calls for ultra formal attire. This means that it is appropriate to wear full dress (tail coat) with a white shirt, tie, and vest. BLACK TIE OPTIONAL This type of event gives you the option of wearing a tuxedo. The only other appropriate attire would consist of a dark suit and tie. Black Tie Invited would mean the same. CREATIVE BLACK TIE This type of event leaves room for more trendy or fashion forward interpretations of formal wear. A more modern style of tuxedo, with a black shirt and no tie would be considered appropriate. SEMI FORMAL This type of event may also be referred to as After Five or Business Formal. No matter what it is called a tuxedo is not required, but a dark suit is appropriate. COCKTAIL ATTIRE This type of event requires attendants to wear a dark suit. A tuxedo is not required. An Informal Event would require the same. DRESSY CASUAL This type of event calls for a dressed up version of casual wear. Trousers and a sport coat would be appropriate.
